Building a better world

"Our teams are passionate about working with our suppliers to support our customers and our communities in using natural resources in a more sustainable way." Andrew Williamson Product Innovation & Quality Leader

Supporting the trade industry

Reece has built its success over many decades by making our customers lives easier and helping them grow their businesses.

We’re proud to partner with the Vocational Education sector (VET) nationwide, and leading organisations like Empowered Women in Trade (EWIT), WorldSkills Australia and Women of Trade and Industry.

Together, we provide opportunities for students to discover a career in plumbing, through school workshops, employment pathways and by providing starter toolkits for new apprentices.

Beyond this, we continue to invest in our partnership with Mates in Construction to support the mental health and wellbeing of the trade industry more broadly.

Partnering with MATES

The trade industry is disproportionately impacted by poor mental health. Through our long-term partnership with MATES in Construction, we helped connect Australian tradies to 1.2k hours of counselling services.

World Skills

We're committed to empowering apprentices with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in their careers. Reece has been a sponsor of WorldSkills Australia for over a decade, empowering the next generation of plumbers to level up their skills at regional, national, and international competitions.

Supporting diversity in our industry

We recognise that the face of the trade is changing, with women and people from diverse backgrounds increasingly joining our industry. Empowering these groups and creating an inclusive environment helps our industry attract and retain the best talent and supports a sustainable workforce for the future. In FY24, through our partnership with Empowered Women in Trade, 232 young women engaged in plumbing skills days. We also supported 20 young women to complete a job-ready program and access apprenticeships in partnership with Women in Trades and Industry.

Sustainable products & solutions

We want to support our trade customers to navigate the shift to a more sustainable future by helping provide product solutions and expertise around industry changes.

The specialised products that Reece and our customers deal with every day are almost always directly engaged in the use or movement of the earth’s natural resources, such as water and gas, and tend to be in use for an extended period of time.

By improving their performance and efficiency, we could help to contribute to a more sustainable society. Today we are already delivering a wide range of sustainable product options across our business, and we want to keep making progress.

Making life easier for our customers

Reece has partnered with Greenbank Environmental to provide our trade customers with a digital tool to simply identify and process eligible rebates for energy-efficient products.

Greenbank’s digital tool allows our trade customers to easily access information, process incentives swiftly and transparently quote their customers. In FY24, 7.3K+ certificates were traded with Greenbank.

Conserving water through our product offering

Through our product offering, we’re committed to supporting our customers and end-consumers to minimise excessive use of water.

We conducted a review of all Water Rating Labels (WELS) products to identify opportunities to encourage greater water efficiency. As a result, Reece has ceased selling 0 and 1-star rated products by working with suppliers to improve or, where needed, discontinue products. We are also taking this a step further, and have begun the phase-out of 2-star WELS products. We have already phased out 82% of 2-star WELS products in our portfolio.

Innovating to create more choices

Thermann Smart Electric units provide ample water storage capacity by harnessing electric water heating technology, transforming the hot water heater into a latent battery that maximises the benefits of solar power systems.

Thermann Smart Electric features app-enabled technology – Thermann Connect App – which empowers consumers to monitor energy usage, optimise savings, and even schedule operations to coincide with peak solar energy production times. The app is available for download from the app store.

Clean water

The movement of clean water is at the heart of what Reece, and our customers, do every day. We’re the founding partner and ongoing supporter of the Reece Foundation - an independent charity that connects trade skills with communities in need.

We believe all people have the right to clean water and sanitation and share the Foundation’s vision to make it happen.

Right from the outset, the Reece Foundation has been clear that what matters most is the wellbeing of people and the communities we work with as well as the role that clean water and sanitation plays in enabling people to live a life they value.

Thanks to the support and skills of volunteer tradies, Reece Foundation and its partners have helped over 32,000 people access clean water and sanitation, with three projects completed this year in Indonesia, Eugowra, Australia and Lismore, Australia, and 10 grants delivered across five countries.
