Do the right thing

We've always focussed on doing the right thing. We know that we have a responsibility to keep improving, build a better business and contribute to a better society.

Our environmental footprint

As a business, we want to minimise the our environmental footprint in a practical and commercial way.

We are focused on reducing our impact by minimising our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, but when it comes to the footprint of our significant vehicle fleet, the speed to achieve this will also be dictated by available technology and infrastructure.

Our goal is to achieve ‘Net Zero’ by 2050. We are also targeting delivering a 35% reduction in our Scope 2 emissions by 2030.

Our commitments

Absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions reduction from our FY21 baseline.
Work in partnership with our suppliers to measure our impact and find innovative ways to reduce our collective footprint.
Publish our progress against our sustainability strategy annually.

Reducing waste

The construction and trade industries can be high contributors to landfill waste. We know that tackling this is a priority for our team and customers.

We are focused on finding ways for our team and customers to improve waste diversion, while also tackling waste at the source by working with suppliers on product packaging and increasing product circularity.

We are still at an early stage in this process. Our current priorities include understanding how to capture the recycling initiatives within our business and challenging and educating our people to achieve the highest diversion possible.

Ethical supply chain

We want our team and customers to be sure that they can trust the products they buy from Reece, and we know we have a responsibility to make sure our business and supply chain have minimised their risk of modern slavery.

We continue to work collaboratively with our suppliers and our industry to address this important issue. We are working to refine our approach, deliver continuous improvement and work towards maintaining an ethical and sustainable supply chain.

Our approach is set out in our Modern Slavery statement.

Inclusion & diversity

We know that a diverse and inclusive workforce can achieve more. We want to develop and celebrate an environment with a diverse range of views, backgrounds, genders and cultures, and where everyone feels included.

Operating in an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated, gender diversity is our biggest challenge . We want to build a pipeline of gender diversity from the ground up. We have a Gender Equality Action Plan in ANZ which we are evolving into a broader inclusion strategy that will help inform and shape how we improve inclusion, gender equality and equal opportunities for all team members at Reece.

We also have a range of Reece employee networks established to champion and inform inclusion throughout Reece, including Reece Pride and Women@Reece.

Reconciliation

We believe we have a meaningful role to play in creating a more equitable Australia. This belief has inspired our journey towards reconciliation and driven the development of our Reconciliation Action Plans.

We are committed to working with First Nations peoples - listening, learning, and gaining a greater understanding of the role Reece can play in moving toward a more equitable Australia.

Our business is founded on relationships. We are embedded in the communities where we operate, and we have long-standing relationships with our customers, suppliers, and within the broader construction industry. It's through these relationships and partnerships that we believe we can have the most impact, leveraging our sphere of influence to promote reconciliation through our ways of working to influence change.
