Progressing our sustainability strategy in FY23
Reece Sustainability Report

Today, Reece Group published our second sustainability report, summarising the progress we have made in 2023.

Peter Wilson said, “Our sustainability strategy is founded on three pillars: Sustainable Business, Empowered Trade and Resilient Communities. Since the outset, we’ve approached sustainability the way we do everything at Reece – by being customer-led and implementing a strategy that supports long-term success for Reece and our customers.”

In FY23, we continued to explore ways Reece can become a more sustainable business. We made some early progress gathering insight and enhancing our ability to progress towards our emissions reduction aspirations as a business, including conducting energy audits at eight energy-intensive sites, and a waste audit in our Australian business. We also conducted an electric vehicle trial in metro and regional Victoria to learn more about what transitioning our fleet would involve.

With a shortage of trades a growing problem, we have always been passionate about getting young people excited about the opportunities our industry can offer. In FY23, we supported 110 education institutions by providing access to training materials, plumbing skills days, and tools.

Through our work with the Reece Foundation and volunteer customers, we helped almost 20,000 people access clean water and sanitation through two projects in Lismore, New South Wales, and regional Cambodia.

Reflecting on what the Foundation has achieved so far, Group CEO & Deputy Chair Peter Wilson said, “I’m very proud of the progress we’ve made. Since its launch 18 months ago, the Foundation has delivered two major projects and continues to gain momentum by empowering our trade customers to deliver real-world impact. This is exactly where we want to focus and where we know we can deliver positive outcomes.”

He continued. “As we look forward, there is a lot to do. We have set ourselves a significant challenge, but we are committed to delivering continuous improvement. We look forward to providing another update in 2024.”
