2024 marks a significant milestone for Dontek as it celebrates 35 years of dedication, growth, and innovation. From its modest beginnings in 1989, Dontek has grown into a respected leader in the global pool industry, manufacturing over 120 innovative models for over 30 companies within Australia and around the world. 

Dontek’s evolution into an industry leader began in 2003 when Paul Were joined and empowered the team to explore automatic pool control. Recognising the unique needs of the pool industry, Paul spearheaded the company’s development of innovative solutions that have since become industry standards. Paul said, “We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for our people, they are the driving force behind our success over the years. Our customer-centric approach to product development, commitment to quality, and strong customer relationships are what have allowed Dontek to grow and evolve over the years.” 

The expansion to a larger facility in 2012 was a pivotal moment for Dontek. The new premises allowed Dontek to integrate advanced manufacturing processes, enhancing its ability to innovate and maintain high standards. This was evident when Dontek introduced Aquatek to the market in 2021, simplifying pool management and embodying the company’s commitment to continuous improvement. 

In 2022, Dontek joined The Reece Group, marking a new chapter in its journey. This partnership has allowed Dontek to continue building on their legacy while expanding reach and capabilities. “Joining Reece has been an exciting opportunity for us,” Paul says. “It continues to strengthen our ability to scale, push boundaries in product development and serve our customers even better.” 

He continued, “This month, as we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we are also thrilled to share that Dontek has recently moved into our new larger headquarters in Bayswater. The new facility will provide us with enhanced resources and space to support our evolving needs of our people and customers and support our growth into the future. Thank you to our people and customers who have supported us over these years. We’re excited for what’s to come.”
