Every day the reecetech team are designing and building products for our people and customers. Twice a year reecetech holds a hackathon over two days to drive innovation in different parts of the business. Last week’s theme saw 15 hard-working teams innovate for impact. Inspired by Reece’s charity partners, teams developed tools and ideas to improve the health and mental well-being in the workplace.
One of the winning teams, walk on the pipe side, saw branches compete to track their step count against the distance between branches. Luisa Bradshaw, Product Manager for maX said of the experience, “Not only did I get to work with new people across the department, but it was a great way to share ideas on how technology could help Reece employees be healthier and more active.”
Another winner, Associate Engineer Lionel Bersee, said “What an awesome way to end the week, winning both the People’s Choice and Engineering awards at the reecetech innovate for impact hackathon!”
