Reece Foundation: Creating spaces that offer dignity, comfort and a fresh start

Working with the Mornington Community Support Centre, they helped create safe bathrooms and laundries for people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Access to clean water and sanitation is a basic need. It also gives people privacy, comfort and a sense of stability. For many people, a bathroom is part of everyday life - a place to reset, get ready and feel safe.

The plumbing trade helps create healthier and safer communities in practical ways. On this project, those skills helped turn accommodation units into spaces where people can shower, do their laundry and build a sense of daily life again.

The finished units will support people and families as they find their feet again. For the volunteers, it was a practical way to use their trade skills for the community, creating spaces that feel safe, considered and ready for everyday life.
