Reece named one of Australia and New Zealand’s Best Places to Work
btw

Last night, Reece was once again recognised as one of Australia’s top workplaces, ranking #6 on the AFR Boss Best Places to Work (BPTW) list in the Property, Construction and Transport sector. This recognition is based on an employee survey, Reece’s commitment to our people’s health and wellbeing and fostering a culture of inclusion and purpose over what has been a challenging past year.

The annual list, published by the Australian Financial Review and BOSS Magazine, is based on a thorough assessment process managed by Inventium – one of Australia’s leading behavioural science consultancies. The assessment is made up of an employee survey and a written submission, with questions relating to policies, practices and programs that exist within our organisation to support and get the best out of our employees. The methodology is underpinned by Inventium's Workplaces of the Future framework, which identifies ten key factors that are critical to employees feeling motivated and engaged at work and is supported by extensive research.

Reece ANZ Chief Executive Officer Marius Vermeulen said, “Over 750 organisations across Australia and New Zealand were nominated, so we’re honoured to rank #6 among other leaders in our sector who we admire. This recognition reflects the work of our people and our values that, for over 100 years, have underpinned our culture of continuous improvement. From rolling out a progressive paternity leave policy to investing in our people’s mental and physical wellbeing, it’s the voices of our people that have continued to change our business for the better and create a more inclusive and innovative workplace”.

The BPTW methodology is underpinned by Inventium's Workplaces of the Future framework, which identifies ten key factors that are critical to employees feeling motivated and engaged at work and is supported by extensive research. Organisations who rank at the top are leading the way key elements such as employee wellbeing, equality and purpose.

People want careers with purpose, Reece is a purpose-driven organisation that lives our values every day. This is backed up by our focus on health and wellbeing and helping our people grow their career in a way that matters to them.

Helping our people grow their career in a way that benefits them personally and professionally is an ongoing focus for Reece. This past year, we introduced a progressive paternity leave policy and services to support our parents as they return to work. We also scaled back business communications in the second half of the year, investing in two quarters of communications and activities to improve the health and wellbeing of our people. Over the course of eight weeks, our people completed over 12,000 hours of wellbeing activities from external mindfulness training, on-demand fitness classes to nutrition coaching.

Marius concluded, “Reece is a resilient business, designed for the long-term. Our success is driven by our unique customer promise and our ongoing support of our essential customers. This is evident in our people and how through every interaction each of us work to improve the lives of our customers by striving for greatness every day. As an essential retailer supporting a trade with an increased pipeline of work, it’s an exciting time to join Reece.”

With roles available across operations, marketing, technology and more, Reece is accepting applications for roles across its branch network and its new headquarters in Cremorne.
