Sustainable Business

We've always been focussed on doing the right thing. We know building an efficient business and an empowered workforce will allow us to deliver on our customer promise well into the future.

Our environmental footprint

As a business, we have a role to play in helping limit global warming and climate change. We are starting by tackling the energy we use, the emissions we generate, and the waste in our network.

This is a new area of focus and we know we have a lot to learn. Like everything at Reece, we’ll take a long-term approach to get it right. To demonstrate our commitment, in 2022 we set emissions reduction goals to reduce our absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from our FY21 baseline. We will also work with our supply partners to measure our impact and find innovative ways to reduce our collective footprint.

To achieve these goals, we will

  • Make sure new branches and distribution centres are designed to reduce our impact and increase efficiency.

  • Continue to invest in energy efficient solutions for our existing network to reduce unnecessary emissions.

  • Expand our efforts to source renewable electricity across all regions.

  • Explore opportunities to decarbonise our fleet through emerging technologies.

Health & safety

Everyone has the right to a safe workplace. We’re committed to providing an environment where everyone can leave work in the same, if not better, condition physically and mentally.

Our approach to safety is kept front of mind through our ‘SafeR Standards’ which are adopted at all levels of the business. We complete thousands of ‘safety walks’ through our network every year, and our team are always empowered and supported to create a safe environment.

"I am proud to work for a company that promotes a safe working environment from within, safety is everybody's responsibility and we look out for each other."  - Khalif White, Branch Manager

Diversity & inclusion

We know that with a diverse and inclusive workforce we can achieve more. We want to develop and celebrate an environment with a diverse range of views, backgrounds, genders and cultures, and where our people, customers and partners feel included.

In doing so, we know we will collaborate better, drive more innovation and be a business where anyone can feel they belong.

We have a range of business initiatives that support this approach. Operating in an industry that has traditionally been male dominated, we are particularly focused on building a pipeline of gender diversity, although we know this will take time.

Responsible sourcing

We have a strong commitment to ensuring we have an ethical supply chain, so that our team and customers can be sure that they can trust the products they buy from Reece.

As a business, we aim to have a positive impact on our customers, our people and the communities where we operate. We oppose all forms of slavery and forced labour in our operations and supply chain.

We continue to work collaboratively with our suppliers and our industry to address this important issue. We are working to refine our approach, deliver continuous improvement and work towards maintaining an ethical and sustainable supply chain. Our approach is set out in our Modern Slavery statement.

Our information security teams work hard to minimise the risks to the information we hold. We focus on ensuring our people are equipped with the mindset and skills to mitigate data privacy risks through training and awareness programs.
